Our Mitchell Street Window Studio

The New, Improved Red Sky Stage Radio is now "On The Air"

Our informative and entertaining 24-7 Red Sky Stage streaming Internet radio station is back.  It is packed full of local news, events and, of course, great coverage of the visual and performing arts in Petoskey, Northern Michigan and beyond.  As we go forward over the next several weeks and months, we will be constantly improving our programming and adding enhancements.

Our Monday through Friday morning show and some of our other programming will be live and more interesting and informative than ever.  Our Internet radio station studio is in our big window on East Mitchell Street so we can be truly in the mix in Downtown Petoskey.

We are working on a collection of new  local features about life, events and the arts in Greater Metropolitan Petoskey.  Of course, we will play lots of music by local Northern Michigan artists and folks from around the country who have played at Red Sky Stage.

Join Our Volunteer Radio Staff

Our new, improved Red Sky Stage Radio station needs new additions to our talented staff and YOU are it . . .

If you ever wanted to work at a great community radio station, build something new, learn stuff and have fun, here is your big chance.

We need folks to:

Help host the morning show at least once every week or two.  The show is live so you have to be here by 8:30 in the morning and stay until 10:15.  No prior radio experience needed but you should have some personality and know something about local arts, news or events.  If you are a musician or an artist, that might be a plus.

Edit audio.  We will have lots of audio to edit. Experience with Audacity would be great or any other experience with editing audio files.  You can work at home on your own computer or here at our studio.

Produce and voice features.  We need regular daily, weekly or every-other week  recorded features on a wide variety of topics of local interest,  This is like creating your own radio show on subjects like local events, local history, environmental issues, local sports, outdoor activities, food and agriculture, art news, local musician profiles, etc.  Any topic that interests you, you know something about and is of particular interest to people in Greater Metropolitan Petoskey.  You may record the feature at your own home or office on your equipment and provide it to us as an mp3 or you may use our equipment.

Promotion and advertising.  Big time we need people who want to work on promoting the radio station.  This involves figuring out and executing ways to let people know about the station and increase listenership.  We also need people to sell advertising and develop promotions with local businesses and others.

Anything else.  As with everything at Red Sky Stage, we are interested in everybody's energy and ideas.  if there is something else you would like to volunteer to do to help out, let us know.

Interested?  Call or email Marty Scott  231-487-0000  marty@redskystage.com   We will discuss sales commissions for people who sell advertising.  Everything else is strictly volunteer  --  have fun, gain experience and help your community.
